The Maltese Falcon

24/12/2015

The Portuguese Falconry association has recently published in their NEBRI Magazine an article I wrote on the historical tradition of falconry in Malta. This Mediterranean country has a rich history around its birds of prey, and at one time in its history it was under the control of an Italian king that asked of Malta only one thing as tribute: a Maltese falcon a year! See the article, in Portuguese, here.

I came in contact with the reality of falconry in Malta while working on the issue of bird hunting with the Maltese Anthropologist Brian Campbell, which whom I wrote a number of papers in the issue. See the “Research” tab for the full articles!
